I have a 3.5 IDE HDD from a very old PC, running Windows 98.
Yesterday I purchased an external enclosure. When I insert in the USB socket, the drive was instantly recognised and I was able to access old documents without any problem
I also have another 3.5 HDD taken out of a PC running XP. Although I had problems initially, I have now got my laptop to recognise the extra local drive, and although I can access program files, I am not able to access my documents. Message says "documents & settings is not accessible, access is denied"
Although I have user accounts set up for myself, partner and kids, none are password protected.
How do I get access to my documents, I would imagine there is some administrator setting that needs to be overcome, but how do I do this?
Any help board members can give would be much appreciated
