Ugent help needed Vista To XP install

  golfpro 14:03 19 Oct 2007

I have just bought a new laptop and it has Win Vista German version pre-installed (not yet activated). I would like to install (Clean install) Win XP English version over this. Would this be a problem. I need to know urgently as I have to order this within the next 4 hours.

As long as you have an XP Disk yes. Boot from D drive (cd or dvd drive) set up XP by Deleting C drive (Partition), create new C drive (in unallocated space, accept default), format it and all should be OK, if there is any other (recovery) partitions just delete them, and create C leaving 8MB as unpartitioned space.

** Don't forget you will need XP Drivers for things like Sound,Graphics,Ethernet SATA etc.**

I think I've read enough, maybe I'll just stick with the German Vista, besides my PC is XP German.
