Ubuntu and Virtualbox.

I installed Ubuntu to virtualbox but I'm not too enthralled by it. Can anyone tell me how to uninstall it from virtualbox. It isn't very clear cut on the website and I'm a little nervous in believing I just click the delete button.

you may like to try Linux Mint, which is much more Windows like in it's implementation.

or perhaps, PCLinuxOS,

and of course, there's always Kubuntu.

All of these use KDE as the Window manager, which is likely to be much more familiar territory to Windows users.

Keep in mind, any of these distro's downloaded as ISO files, can be run directly from the ISO in VirtualBox and do not necessarily have to be burnt to disk. VirtualBox is actually an excellent tool for trying all sorts of operating systems (including servers) and you may as well make use of it.
