Hi, I've got a new pc, so i've got all my important files off my old one onto the new, then i formatted my old one (a Y2K Dell Dimension XPS T700r) and put xp on there just as a little home project. Well it's fine at the mo, but makes a lot of noise, also, i've heard that xp can overclock old processors (698 MHz (also 128MB RAM)). Just wandering if there are any tweaks for xp that could make it run smoother on an old pc? cause i'm gunna give it to my young cousin so he can have it to play about. Anyway, anything that could help would be much appreciated, cheers

Upping the ram to at least 256 would help greatly

The system will work better at 256k, but I would recommend 512k - and its so cheap now. Also, that hard disk is quite slow by today's standards and could be a candidate for replacement.
