TV/Video Cards

I've got a large collection of video tapes and would like to transfer them onto a different media (ie. CD, DVD). I'd also like to be able to use my PC to record off the TV instead of the video.

I'm not sure what is and isn't possible. Could someone give me some pointers and suggestions of what equipment I would need to accomplish this?

Would there be any draw-backs? Would I be better off with a seperate DVD reorder or HDD product instead of using the PC?

I have a Winfast TV card which allows me to do all the above - they have a really good range of products at various price points.

Easy to set up & allow time shifting anf copying TV progs to DVD.
