Tutorial - setting up accounts on XP

  stugra 19:11 17 Jan 2006

A friend of mine would like me to set up logins for each of his family on his Windows XP.

His daughters are driving him mad with downloading rubbish which then seizes up the PC.

Is there a tutorial (for thick people) that would tell me how to set him up as the administrator (Can this be done on XP Home?) and how to set up the daughters' logins, but preventing them from downloading any stuff without permissions?

Many thanks in advance for any replies.

Click Start>Control Panel>User Accounts. If you want to change the permissions and settings on an existing account, click on it and you'll see the various options listed. If you want to create a new account, click "Create new account", name it, then apply the settings you want as above.

gointo control panel user accounts click on various accounts and you can change permissions i.e ordinary user, administrator etc. Change and set passwords etc. When you click on each account you will get the option for changes or for setting up new accounts
