Can anyone recommend a package/device that will enable me to copy old time camcorder tapes onto the hard disk so i can convert them to DVD for posterity.

I expect i will need some sort of PCI card, or a device to plug into my SATA cable, which there is one slot of each spare.

MAny thanks

I use Intervideo WinDVR click here

The software above came with Adaptec VideOh! DVD Media Center USB 2.0 (Amazon have these in stock)I use it to transfer video footage from either a video or camcorder onto my hard drive. I then use Cyberlink PowerDirector and Cyberlink Powerproducer to do my editing and burn it to DVD.

Although you can use the software "Sonic MyDVD" to burn the video to DVD (this came with Adaptec VideOh! DVD Media Center USB 2.0) I prefer PowerProducer as I noticed that using Sonic MyDVD the video and sound are not in sync after minutes into the DVD movie.

Hope this helps
