Trying to go wireless with BT

  jack regan 10:43 07 Oct 2007

I have purchased a Netgear wireless router for my parents who have a wireless laptop. They are currently with BT broadband and have a Voyager wired router. I have managed to get them onto the wireless network but cannot sustain connection. If I log off and then go back on again I cannot get connected.
It has been suggested I need to buy a BT Home Hub but I am reluctant to buy an additional router unless i really have to.
Any ideas please?

Find out how long the contract is with BT. If only a few months, call them and upgrade to 12-18 months and they will send a free HomeHub.

Hi, I upgraded my BT BB from Option 1 to Option3, immediately was given a new BT HomeHub, and I can thoroughly recommend it - extremely easy to set up as well. Worked straight away with my partners wireless laptop connection.

Thanks guys, I've just purchased a BT home hub on e-bay which was a bargain so hopefully this will work.

When you set the homehub up,change the default encryption from 64bit WEP to WPA/WPA2.Its far more secure.
