Trouble playing DVD's

  torpid 03:48 31 Dec 2006

Every time I try and play a dvd it does not work. I inserted a dvd that played perfectly 3 weeks ago on cineplayer and now it refuses (goes back to player menu).
When I try using windows Media I get a message saying..."Windows media player cannot play this dvd because a problem occured with digital copyright protection"
Im using legal dvd's from shops and I cant think of anything that i have downloaded that might cause problems. I dont understand why it has just suddenly stopped playing dvd's.
Any help or advice appreciated. Thanks

Thanks for replying ashdav. One thing, im a bit rubbish at solving pc problems, what you are saying is that I should download a codec pack because mine are out of date?
sorry to be a bit slow!

Billiant it works! Thanks to ashdave & Skidzy.

Two more questions before I close this...

1>Do I need to keep the downloaded klcodec icon?

2>Why did i have to do that? No warning of update required or anything!

Always handy to keep the codec pack.

Just occassionly codecs become broken or missing due to either updates or installation of software, even registry cleaners.
