Trouble with Logitech Camera and Skype

  1933 15:25 01 Nov 2006

Following a recent new hard drive and genuine copy of XP I am now having a problem with Skype and video. The sound is fine but if I switch on my video - a Logitech Quick Cam - the person I am calling cannot hear me anymore. My video is showing on my panel and I can hear the other end but no sound from my end. This was OK until the recent work. The PC is running XP Home, a 2.6 Pentium 4 with 1 GB of ram. Any suggestions please. Many thanks DG

Try reading the Skype sound configuration pages:

You can also allow Skype to control sound settings from the configueration menu.

Check in Skype menu - Tools - Options - Sound Devices.

Is the "Audio In" set correctly to your microphone (not sure if the Logitech Cam has built in mike, if so this should appear in the pull down list)Will default to standard sound chip/card so needs to be changed for webcam mike.
