The Trojan in the title now appears to have downloaded to my laptop.
I'm running Windows XP Home with MS Security Essentials. I've done a Full Scan.
Trojan:WinNT/Alureon.S was detected and my MS Security essentials reports that it was removed but it is clearly still here!
I can access internet via MS Security Essentials but cannot access any other programs or files.
A program called Windows XP Recovery has also appeared with an option to Fix Errors.
Advice as to how I get rid of this Trojan will be most welcome.
Scroll down to the 'Automated removal section
or maybe try this.
To remove false security programs
Thanks for your advice. Much appreciated. I tried both approaches but neither was successful (probably due to me doing something wrong).
Anyway, my local IT shop removed the Trojan for me and did some other good stuff for not too much money.
Once again, thanks for your advice.
