Trojan.DNSChanger.ef REMOVAL

  johnpalmer 11:51 03 Oct 2006

I am having infuriating problems attempting to remove trojans.

Today I ran Spyware Doctor which cound 2 Trojan and was supposed to have removed them.

I then ran Trojan Hunter which found nothing.

I then ran E Wido which found 1 Trojan (Trojan.DNSChanger.ef). After pressing to quarantine, the action column read "error while quarantining".

Do these Trojans resist removal, or do they return after re-visiting the internet.

Should I run these tools with system restore off, and no internet connection.

I currently have installed the following
1. Norton Protection Centre
2. Spyware Doctor
3. E-Wido 4
4. A Squared
5. No-Adware
6. Trojan Hunter.

What's going on. Any further suggestions.

Turn System Restore Off, then run Ewido in safe mode (Keep tapping F8 to get into safe mode on boot)Don't forget to turn system restore back on.

Did exactly as you said, and the Ewido, running in safe mode, completed the job at last. Many thanks.

With all the so called firewall and protection I've got, will they still sneek back in.

There is always a chance of picking up malware, just run regular checks. Most of it is not a serious threat anyway.Make sure that you turned system restore back on.
