trojan virus please help!!

I have recently discovered a troj/tubmo-b virus on my pc.
It is in windows application data under the name of beaabriedroo.dll
I can't delete it as it is been used by windows any help?????

If deleting is all you need start in MSDOS by holding down the Ctrl key during boot & select from the menu. Then simply delete the offending file. That's W98 only don't know about others

What version of Windows are you using?. As siarad says, it will depend. Don`t know about XP, but you could also remove the file from dos, after booting from a floppy.

i can boot into dos as normal i just dont know how to find the file

I was able to access the Sophos site, but I don`t think it will help much, as the method involves the use of Sophos software.

1st, locate the folder where the offending file is located, then re-boot from a (virus free) start up floppy, (which will take you to dos). You can then delete the file from there.

Afterwards, you could then run the on-line virus check from Housecall.
