On start up a friend's 1998 Time333 machine running Win 98SE shows a full screen report that the machine has a Trojan. I don't know the name of it and haven't got the path. It is said that no dodgy sites have been visited and AVG, Spybot and Ad-Aware have recently been updated. Can anybody recommend a good trojan killer. Another computer is available for downloads.

Thanks CurlyWhirly I've already got that one on disc, but it's here and not there, unfortunately.

A Squared is the answer unless we know the name of it. I thought you said in your first post that another computer was available for downloads?

Also this full screen warning sounds odd. It`s not a standard warning from anything you`ve mentioned. Could it be a pop up?

re online scans from Trend Antivirus or Symantec Norton,Download Sophos Floppy disc set (Emergency SAV Distribution) from click here
You will require six floppies
or if you have a good clean well protected Computer with a good Antivirus/Terojan Tool/ Microsoft Antispyware/Spybot/
move the drive onto that on the secondary ide and then scan in safe mode.

Thanks everybody. The friend plans to ditch the Time333 but your info will enable me to have a go at clearing it of the Trojan. Could be good practice for the future, thanks again.
