Transferring printer from parallel port to USB2

  1212 17:51 02 Nov 2006

Am in process of choosing a new computer but most of those in my range no longer have parallel ports to which I may connect my old but still reliable HP Laserjet 6L.

I seem to recall from years ago some means of such cross-connectivity via a special USB2 cable but have been unable to find such still on sale (or quite possibly my memory is at fault anyway!).

My thanks in advance for any suggestions which will be very welcome.

You may need to consider a new printer as a new PC will likely come with XP and if the printer is very old its unlikely that there will be XP drivers for it in which case a generic driver may work but with reduced functionality.
