my old computer to my new one?

What operating system is the old computer using? And what operating system is the new computer using?

Roughly what would you say the size of these file would be?

Do you have a CD writer on the old computer?

there is a cd on old one. I'm not very up on things, but the files are not that big.

Unless your old PC has been updated, I'd guess that your CD is only a player, not a writer, so I'll discount that as an option. If you've been taking backups of your data, then this method should provide the solution. If not, you could open up your old box and attach the old HD to the new system as a slave drive and use drag ' drop. There are also some software packages that allow you to transfer files between PC's but, unless you already have that, and the required serial connector, its not worth the cost just for a one-off. So that probably leave just the old floppy disks - tedious but cheap and effective. Come back if you need specific 'how to' advice.
