transferring downloaded avg to another PC

I've used AVG for many years.
I'm helping someone who has a dial-up connection to install AVG on his computer.
I have broadband, so, to save him the cost of a lengthy connection,I plan to download AVG on MY computer, then take it to his on a disk (or similar)and install it there. But I know from past experience that there will inevitably be a very large update to come in immediately. That will defeat the purpose of the original broadband download. Is it possible to download the update as well and then install it at the same time? And if so, how?

I haven't used AVG in a few months, but if I remember correctly, there is an option, when you click on Update in the AVG interface, to update from file. Then choose the update file you downloaded.

Yes, it's Update from directory... on the AVG Tools menu.
