Apart from a video capture card, what other H/Ware is needed to transfer both picture and sound from a video tape preferably using the scart socket if poss, to the hard drive on my comp, ready for transfering to dvd.

Does anyone please know what leads are needed and where they plug into on the computer, and also where they can be bought from.

I have a very fast computer with plenty of H/Drive space and memory to play with.

Have a Hollywood 2 m/peg decoder card, don't know what this is about as I was given it for free.

Don't need any help on S/Ware, just H/Ware.

Many thanks for any help.

I use a Belkin Hi-Speed USB2 DVD creator, Videowave software, and a scart cable with three phono leads (yellow for the VHS signal, and red and white for the audio channels).

If you purchase a standalone player such as one of these

then all you need to record VHS to DVD is a scart lead.
