Transfering files from old pc to new one

Celery is very stringy 00:59 23 Oct 2005

I am planning to buy a new PC and will be giving the old one to my parents. What is the easiest way to transfer files easily from one to the other. Can you just network them by connecting them via a cable? Would it be an ethernet cable?

Sorry - computer novice here. Any help much appreciated.

If you have a CD burner, then this is the easiest method. All you need to do is Burn whatever files you need onto CD-R and transfer that way.

Networking is an over complicated method.
