Recently bought XP oem version with some hardware. Installed and activated on old PC. Old PC obviously underpowered as very slow. 6 year old has 500mhz processor. Am about to purchase new barebones Dual Core system. Will Microsoft allow me to build and activate new XP system on new PC as old one is for the scrap heap?

when you buy an OEM disc, it is only for the first build,it is possible to install it on another system, and get it activated,i have done this in the passed. but it is breaking the licence agreement.you may have to activate by phone, and explain that you are updating your system

I recently, by accident, activated my OEM XP on the wrong pc.
So I phoned Microsoft and told them Id replaced the mobo and hardrive and they gave me a new code.
