Transfer data from old PC to New PC

Anyone know how to do this without copying loads of stuff to disks. I have both computers connected with serial to serial cable but the xp transfer wizard doesn't want to know. The old PC is running 98 and the new xp. Basically I want to transfer a lot of MP3 files and some other stuff.

Ebuyer do a USB to USB cable for a tenner that lets you transfer data at 2.0 speeds. It can also be used for creating a proper network but that only works at 1.0 speed.

There is an old question on this subject which has link to the product.

Serial to serial takes me back a long way if I understand your problem. That used to be about as slow a route for data as it gets!

MP3 files tend to run into gigabytes so for a ham fisted plodder like me, I would consider a temporary piggyback of your old HD onto the XP computer, just for the time it takes to transfer by simple copying.
