tracert aol

when i do a tracert through command prompt..i get 15 hops and get routed through new york! is this right detail below

I think that they get routed through New York is because that's where the AOL servers are.

i thought they had uk servers now?? (or european)
my download speeds have been erratic of late and this would probably explain it..please can someone confirm that being routed through the good old u.s of a is not normal for the uk..regards akanic

I hadn't heard that AOL had UK or European servers.
I thought that ALL internet traffic through them was processed by their multiple proxy servers which are based in the US?

curlywhurly i mentioned this subject on another message board and they said that i would not be routed through the us as i was in the dont know quite whats happening!!it was adsl guide by the way..regards akanic

Anyway, going back to your PC related reply, I will have a look on the ADSL forum as I assume that's where you found the article saying that AOL route through the UK & Europe as opposed to the US.
