Touchpad Scrolling with Firefox??

  ade.h 17:55 20 Dec 2005

To anyone who uses a touchpad - particularly Synaptics - with Firefox and/or Opera:

Does your vertical scrolling region work with these apps?

Neither of these browsers appear to be compatible with this method of scrolling - which is quite annoying if you're a bit lazy like me!

I'd rather put up with it than resort to Internet Explorer, but if anyone happens to know how/if I could get the scrolling to work in Firefox, I'd love to know.

Thanks in advance.

I have the correct and up to date drivers.

That is the first thing that one would think of.

Do you use the drivers from the notebook manufacturer or Synaptics?

Both Synaptics and HP have recommended that I use the HP-supplied drivers.

I use Firefox - no problems. It may be obvious, but have you enabled the vertical/horizontal scrolling function in the 'properties' section of the touchpad.

Yes, it's enabled. All my other third-party software accepts touchpad scrolling. It's just Firefox and Opera. I have only just got around to installing a mail client - my usual choice of Thunderbird - and that suffers in the same way.
