Can someone advise on a totally free reg editor, I just want something that will sort through my registry and bin any old entries and clean it all up.

All the ones I tried at the weekend on a google search say they are free but when you try to use them it finds all the problems then wants you to buy it to fix them!

"Ccleaner" is free and has a registry cleaning facility. click here

I've also used the free "RegScrubXP" click here in Windows XP, if that's what you're using.

There are many on the forum who like and use the Eusing Free Registry Cleaner:click here

Other freebies are:
Wise Registry Cleaner:click here
and RegSeeker:click here

The best freebie I have tried and still use is Winaso Optimizer. It will only repair 10 items at a time but you can run it as often as you like and it does an automatic back up.plus lots of other things that come in handy.Well worth a try.

I use Comodo Registry Cleaner for cleaning up the Registry; it's far less brutal than, say, EasyCleaner, which can wipe you out if you are not careful.

In addition, I use CCleaner to tidy up the Registry after installing or uninstalling software using the Registry tab/Scan for Issues.
