Total change out to DVD hardware

  olopbob 13:01 03 Mar 2004

I upgraded all my hardware except CDRW last fall and have now decided to upgrade from CD to DVDRW on PC, plus DVD camcorder and player. I was using digital camera and VCR. I'm a newbie to this and would like to know if anyone sees any conflict between the following hardware and media. I am not looking for buying advice, just tech compatability. I have purchased DVD+/-RW Mulitformat Drive bt have the rest on hold pending assurance of compatibility.
Check it out, thanks.

The spec is very good.

You may have to experiment with dv burning for best setup results. Some peeps like system hd as master, with dvdrom on same ide channel set as slave, with 2nd hd on 2nd ide as master, with cdrom as slave, but whatever works best.

Also it's best to have capture software on system drive, with capturing to 2nd hd.

I use dual HD's for system and backup. O/S on master 80 gig, backup on 60 gig as backup.

I have DVD-ROM as secondary master and and was setting up DVD-RW as secondary slave in slot where I'm pulling out CDRW. Sound right?
