Toshiba laptop

I have a Toshiba satellite laptop,i am trying to get it to recieve wireless broadband,there is a small switch on the side that turns it on,it has a tiny led light next to it that should come on when put in the on position,it is not doing so.I am wondering if this switch is on all there machines wether it is wireless capable or not,or is it just not workins,how can i tell.

On my Satellite the wireless neon comes on as soon as the laptop is powered up.

Check what cards are fitted by selecting Run, type cmd, and then ipconfig/all

I bought a Satellite Pro L10 from PC World. Although it was advertised as Wi-Fi enabled it wasn`t. They eventually sent me a PCMCIA adapter FOC. This had a button but it didn`t work as you described.

Run Belarc Advisor from click here and it should tell you if there is a wireless network adapter fitted.
