tried to restore to factory session by pressing f8. That did not work and got stuck on 57% for about 2 hours. Then was told to turn off then back on and now come up with cannot find bootmgr. we can get on to the bios set up but dont know how to use it any help would be appreciated.

Did you make the recovery CDs?If so put the 1st Cd in the drive and reboot the laptop follow the instruction to restore the machine.If not try the F8 route again.
dont have recovery cd's and we have already done the f8.
It wont let my friend do the f8 it comes up with the cannot find the boot mgr. Without that the computer will not work
