toolbar customisation

i can customise toolbar ok;but it reverts to default on re-booting. where am i going wrong.

ps running with xp home.

Can you explain *exactly* what you are trying to do please.

when i boot up i want to see quick launch on left and personal preferences on rightof task bar permanently

Depending on your OS(if its XP,then you need to disable System File Checking in the registry/alter SFC_OS.DLL and delete the "backups" of system files that XP has)to alter the taskbar from the "default" options.I hate the yucky green "Start" button,so I have removed the wording and the little windows icon on it,then changed its colour to the same as the rest of the taskbar with this sites instructions. click here


If your not wanting to alter it from default choices,then your windows aren't closing down correctly,causing the OS to revert to previous state when restarted.
