I have 26 icons in the bottom right of my screen and was wondering how I could safely, and easily, remove some of them without losing the programmes they represent. Can anyone help?
Start Menu, Run, Type MSCONFIG and hit enter. Use the Startup tab to decide what loads and what doesn't.
Tried that but got a message saying, "Cannot find the file msconfig (or one of it's components). Make sure the path and file name are correct and that all required libraries are available." What now??

Try Autoruns click here
Thanks Jester2K II, downloaded that and will see how it works when next I reboot. Presumably, any programmes deleted with Autoruns only removes them from the startup and not altogether from the PC?
click here for another option I find good on Win2k - StartupControlPanel.
Yes it only deletes the startup entry - not the program.
Thanks Diodorus that seems to be a much easier programme to use.
