With Downloader.UG trojan, AVG didn't detect it neither did an online scan Trend Micro housecall but the Panda online scan did and disinfected it.
So how good are the other two really.

Anti-virus programs generally are not great at removing trojans.

Thank you for the speedy response after being with AVG for several years now perhaps it is time for a change.

I wasn't suggesting a change, just something else for your armoury.

I have AVG on daughter's laptop and am very happy with it click here

Trojans aren't viruses(virii!) as such.

AVG is good, & a good Yorkshire price to boot (Free!!!)

I've just had to deal with a case of a trojan, despite being up to date with Norton AV.

Good housekeeping is the key

In 15 years this is only the second virus that has passed me by and a trojan to boot. My housekeeping is usually pretty good, but I made the stupid mistake this AM of opening an e mail from someone I knew and I was rather annoyed that it wasn't picked up. I have so much security on my Pc it is almost like Fort Knox, but not quite.
