Time won't synchronise

  lenc 19:30 17 Mar 2007

Win XP, SP2 fully updated has just started to produce "An error occurred while Windows was synchronising with nnn". I've tried several time servers and over several hours, between noon and 7 pm. Is this a symptom of a deeper problem? Any ideas?

I had to try 4 times today until I finally got it. I assume the servers were busy.

It happens on a regular basis - just keep trying as howard64 suggests.

Thanks guys but that's not it. I can ping the time servers. I've had timeouts before and it doesn't seem like that, and I've tried 20-30+ times over 2 days. I've tried servers in the UK, Europe & the US. I'm concerned that it may be a symptom of something like a rootkit (no other signs).
