Tight lid on a laptop

hi, The lid on the laptop seems tight, it sort of gives a creek when opened, any way of freeing it up..dont really want to give the hinges a squirt of wd40, unless that is what everyone does..

WD40 as been known to work, but seeing the problems of cracked cases on stress points, I would consult with the manufacturers or supplier.
What make, and how old is the laptop!.

Pop into PC world and try another laptop if thats ok then send yours back under warrenty.

I had stiff hinges on my Fujitsu Siemens laptop when I first got it , I used halfords rubber and nylon lubricant on the hinges , it took a few days before they freed off a bit but to date there has been no furthur problem.

well, tell you something for nothing, as the dreaded :-)) FE has said, talc is the thing, I put a little on with a small brush, closed and opened the little a few times and lo and behold the creaking has all gone.....nice one
