Thunderbird password needed after Win 7 instal

My desktop PC has died and I've bought a new one with Windows 7 installed (the old one was XP). I've installed Mozilla Thunderbird but it asks me for a password. I haven't the faintest idea what it is. Can I find it anywhere? I have a laptop with Thunderbird installed - is the password likely to be there?

i think it may be your isp password it is asking for

After installing Thunderbird you would need to set up your email account/s via Tools/Account Settings. On the Mail Account Setup window you need to put in your mail password and tick the box to remember the password.

Tk you all for your replies. But where do I find my isp password or my mail password?

Your passwords are the ones you use to connect to your isp, or to send mail.

It is up to you to keep a copy somewhere safe, if you can't remember them.

if you can't find/remember password you will have to phone your isp for it.

Tks again. The isp password may be somewhere in a paper file somewhere. I';; have a look. But sincere thanks anyway.
