Thunderbird Mail setting .

In Mozilla Thunderbird is it possible to enable a setting so when it opens up it checks for messages automatically without you having to click on Get Mail every time?

Tools > Accounts > Server Settings

Click the box that says 'Check for New Messages at Startup'

You can also set it to check for messages at regular intervals if you wish (the same feature as in Outlook Express).

But be aware. If you go offline (at least with dialup) and don't close down Thunderbird, it will go online to check for messages at the set interval. Disabling the feature temporarily will prevent it.
