Thunderbird addresses corrupt

  jack 20:02 11 Jan 2007

Occasionally an address in theaddress book in Thunderbird will corrupt with acquired " in places here and there and I get' address must have domain' error.
When this happens this address will appear at the top of the contact list with the quotes, delete it and all goes well- Don't know why it happens just does.
Thunderbird forum came up with no sensible answer last time I asked.
To day sending a round robin to 10 or so addy's and they all corrupted.

So I deleted the program and the address book.
Download the latest version of ThunderBird
reloaded address book from my file and tried again.
All addresses corrupted-cant send any mail
What's up?

I have heard of this before, but can't remember the fix (or even if there was one), if I do, I'll post back, in the mean time...

Ask on the mozzilla forums at click here

Hope this helps.

Thank You VT- I am a forum member there and have raised the problem in the past
Zilch result then.
There are loads of pages to work through so I am, a couple at a time.
Mean while -keep scratching your head for me.

So far not much more than splinters, but it's poss that it is a corrupt profile.

Have a look at this page to see how to backup and create a new profile click here.

Before you create a new profile, please backup your address book, by -address book -tools -export (to the file location of your choice, best not the default), and any/all emails just in case.

Hope this helps.
