Had a problem with C drive on PC bought from PC Specialist last November - see my previous thread click here

I rang them yesterday morning. Replacement HDD arrived this morning and the courier took my old drive back. I have just done a rescue with Acronis TI 10 and all is now as it was (except for the faulty HDD of course). Brilliant service.

We all hear about different back up possibilities, but generally it is simply PC users opinions. I use both Ghost and Acronis TI 10 alternately. It is good to read that one of them at least, did it totally successfully. It gives one more confidence to users who back up, but luckily have NO reason to actually rescue their HD's

the top service from PC Specialist. I just threw in the Acronis bit as I was very pleased with it.
Enoch is right - its a matter of opinion and personal preference as to which software people use for backup. I used to use Norton Ghost and had both at one time but, for reasons I can't explain, I feel more comfortable with Acronis.
The whole process - including installing the HDD took about 2.5 hours. Would probably have been quicker if I hadn't been a little confused (I'm easily confused) about which drive was which, particularly when I used Acronis to add the new drive as the drive letters changed at that point. However it wasn't difficult to work out.
