TFT screens

I've just treated myself to a flat screen, an LG 1810B to be precise, but I've just been told by my brother that some computer games will not work on flat screens because you can't adjust the resolution. Is this right?

I don't want to think I've just bought myself a turkey!!!!

You can just the resolution.

Right click the desktop and choose properties. Then click settings and adjust from there.

yes but don't go any higher than 1024 X 768. you can go lower as 800 X 600 and below that if you want.

TFT's have a native resolution, at which the look and perform the best. They can handle other resolutions though, and will usually scale up/down images to fit the screen.

I'm currently after the 1710B - is the 1810 looking good?

I have the L10810B and it's great.

It can go to a resolution of 1280 X 1024 but its very very small.

Should be "Lucky" Bob. Don't worry I have a 17" TFT and it's superb on games and DVD movies.

One thing that tends not to be mentioned with TFT's is in fact one of the better attributes.

No reflection, absolutely none at all, and this makes a big difference, takes a while to get used to the fact that you don't see your self, or objects in the room reflecting off the surface of the screen.. Once again, don't worry just enjoy yourself. :o)

Cheers for the information.

The L1810B is a honey of a screen, not that I'm an expert mind (like you can't tell!!)

I've currently got it on 1280 x 1024 resolution
which does make all the letters rather small but DVD's do look fantastic.

Native res. for this TFT is 1280 x 1024

Not forgetting the USB ports on the thing ;-)
