TFT font quality

Would I be right in saying that the font quality is better on a CRT monitor as opposed to a TFT monitor?

I've got a TFT monitor and I've noticed that on some web pages, the font appears to be feint and even blurred. Is this normal?

yes, they work in a different way and after many years using a normal CRT I find that flat screen monitors look a lot worse. However, I think they have improved a bit over the years and the very expensive flat screen monitors are looking sharper.

Thanks VoG - that seems to improve things a bit.

The other thing to check (if you haven't already) is that you are running your screen at the "native" resolution, 1024X768 for a 15 inch and 1280X1024 for a 17 inch is the norm. Running at other resolutions will blur text.
