Text "bubbles" on baseline

  naviator 22:53 15 Dec 2009

I am irritated by text "bubbles" which appear on the baseline giving me information which is obvious, which I already know, or which I have no need to know. Is there anyway in which these things can be eliminated? They disappear after 30 seconds or so but are a nuisance and I would rather they didn't appear at all. I did some years ago have an entry which if typed and entered into "Run" in W98 did get rid of them but lost it when I changed to Windows XP.

I am assuming you are still on XP - this will remove the text bubbles for you:

Thank you Sea Urchin. Unchecked the Alert settings in Security Centre Resources as Bill suggested and if there are still too many - which I don't think there will be now - I'll download Murphy.
