temporary internet files

Having just run a scan, i noticed that almost 2000 files/2gig and 15 minutes of scan time was spent on temp' internet files.
they are obviously clogging up, but how imprtant are they-if at all?..and how -if at all..can they be removed ?
(windows xp.)

I delete mine. They are not needed. Open My Computer. Right click C: Drive > Properties > Disk Cleanup > put ticks in the box's of the items you want to clean-up then click OK.

Not really needed...Good to have if your on 56K.

In IE tools, internet options, delete files.

or.. Start Menu\Programs\Accessories\System Tools/Disk Cleanup

thank you...as usual....nearly quarter of a gig reclaimed through that and re-cycle bin emptying...nicely thank-you.
