Is this temp under stress,ie game playing etc ?

If an idle temp, yes it is high.

Hi, a touch on the high side, but not critical. Check that all fans are working properly and the fan blades and the inside of PC are clean and free of dust and fluff. Also make sure that PC has plenty of clear air-space around it, and that the cables inside are tidy and not blocking through-flow of air.

hi, am no expert but I was wondering if your drives have always run at this temp or is it a recent thing ?
If they are both running at the same temp, it 'could' point to ambient temperature ?!
If it's recent, then something has, or is, occuring.
Have you also checked fan speeds ?

This info might help the chaps to pinpoint your prob.
good luck

By the way - never be tempted to run the pc with the side(s) removed to aid cooling - this has the opposite effect, making it run hotter. This is because the cooling is achieved by through air-flow, cool air in at the front, hot air out at the back of case. With side(s) off air becomes stagnant, so it heats up.
