Temp internet files is set to empty when browser is closed. Looking at disk cleanup there are no temp internet files. But looing in windows explorer there are 4 folders with between 15mb and 18 mb of junk from grandchildrens' surfing. Can I empty these and is there a quick'n easy way of doing it?

U can do this by going into Windows Explorer, finding Ur Internet Temp folder, open the folder, goto edit, click select all, should B highlighted BLUE, then delete. Have U got Norton system works? U can do it through that.

Or go to, in IE, Tools > Internet Options > General tab, click the "Delete Files" button and from the little box which appears, tick the "Delete all offline content" box and click OK.

Thankyou very much for the good advice- off to carry out your instructions.

No Norton system works and did as you said but the four folders still contain 60+mb. Is it safe to just delete all their contents?

The 4 folders of what looks like junk are in a subfolder of temporary internet files called contenet IE5 [although I'm on IE6].

The folder is just called Content IE5, god knows why, but, yes, it is usually safe to delete them.
