Telewest broadband & Norton Firewall

  RKMonty 20:24 18 Aug 2004

For the last few day I have been unable to connect to the Internet instantly.
I have contacted Telewest and they have checked my connection and say it is my Firewall is stopping the connection. They asked me to briefly to switch off the Norton Firewall and then try to connect to Internet....I do and can connect to the Internet OK. They therefore say it's my Firewall.....when I enable my Firewall and then later try to connection.
I have not changed my Firewall settings...any comments / ideas....could it be a Norton update ??
Any help appreciated.
I have not installed MS SP2.

Probably not really helpful but I simply wanted to tell you that I run Blueyonder and Norton's Firewall. Have done for a long time now without any similar problems to those you are having.

Don't know if it is due to a Symantec update, but you surely check their website for updates?

You might consider uninstalling the Firewall and re-installing it.

Similarly, daughter's laptop has NIS and can connect fine over WiFi network.

I think a setting must have been corrupted.
