Telephone latching on to calls.

This doesn't sound like a PC problem but it turned out to be.

Mt phone started locking on to calls. You'd make the call, hang up, pick up the phone and you were still connected. This was especialy evident if you'd had an engaged tone, pick up the phone 5 minutes later and it was still engaged. Pulling the plug at the wall corrected the problem. This happened even if the PC was turned off and even if I disconnected the modem. The internet was working as normal.

Turned out to be a broadband filter. I replaced this and all was well. Pluging it back in made the phones latch once more, even phones that were plugged into a different filter.

If I hadn't found this it could have been a very expensive BT callout or unnecessary phone change.
