I've recently started having a problem with task manager. If I cntrl alt del it does not give options to see what activity is going on. I also cannot close it anymore. If I right click to close the window it remains open unless or until I shutdown.
Can anyone please give me an idea what I can do to restore task manager.

Hi, run CCleaner, click here - just open it and run it as shown.

Or - do a System Restore back to when all was OK.

Thanks for the advice, but it does not reolve it unfortunately.

Hmm, if you have your original XP disc you could try a Repair of XP - assuming that is your OS.

surely if you go to the task bar and right mouse click you then get a small box appearing with various items including task manager; is that in there?

Thanks for all the advice.
What I actually get is a window opening that simply has End Task Switch To New Task at the bottom. It looks nothing like the traditional task manager.
