Task Manager disabled

  ened 12:04 28 Sep 2008

I need precise instructions (if possible) to be able to tell my Father how to sort this problem.

Since Friday when he tries to open the Task Manager he gets a warning dialogue informing him that the administrator (XP Home)has disabled Task Manager.

Right-clicking the task bar the Task Manager is greyed out.

He is the administrator and no body else has access to his machine.

Can anybody help?

He should run his AV and Anti Malware programs to remove any problems. Then use these options to correct the situation

There is too much for me to talk him through on the phone, so I will ask him to have a look at this page and see how he gets on.

Thanks and I shall report back when he has resolved it.
