tape to pc

I want to record my old cassette tapes onto my hard drive so as to convert to cd,is there a program i can download to do this?Dr Hands.

In addition to the software mentioned,
Audacity is one. Many others a Google search will reveal or your soundcard may have one builtin
Go to Start/Programs/Accessories/Entertainment -for the windows own version

You will need to connect player to PC to do this you will need a double ended cord that is a cable with a 3mm jack each end to run from tape player headphone jack to LINE IN on the PC- most Audio stores or mail order- Maplins - or from KV Cables -E mail [email protected].
I have also taped LP.s then transferred tape to PC
The purists go ugh! But its OK[ish]
