System is very slow and the following message appears:-
During system startup potential errors in system registry were found
P-07-0100 1rq;:1f Server 0xff00024
NT_Kernel error 1256

I have tried various things including CCleaner and Spybot but nothing works and I cannot system restore. I even tried to reformat hard drive but it won't let me? Please help I am not great with computers...

If you use Norton as your security turn it off then do a system restore,

Don;t forget to turn it back on again after the restore,

I have tried this but cannot clear this message. The system is so slow and hangs all the time

Try doing a system restore in safe mode,

Reboot into SAFE MODE

1/Click Start and then click Turn Off Computer.
2/In the Turn Off Windows dialog box, click Restart, and then click OK.
3/As your computer restarts but before Windows launches, press F8 repeatedly.
4/Use the arrow keys to highlight Safe Mode, and then press ENTER.
5/If you have a dual-boot or multiple-boot system, choose the installation that you need to access using the arrow keys, and then press ENTER.
Note: If Windows launches before you can choose a safe mode, restart your computer and try again
PS/ Sometimes it maybe the F5 key

Also try,

To do this simply go to the Run box on the Start Menu and type in:
sfc /scannow
Click OK
This command will immediately initiate the Windows File Protection service to scan all protected files and verify their integrity, replacing any files with which it finds a problem
