system restore missing

I'd like to set a restore point but when I went to control panel/system there's no longer a system restore tab in the system properties.

Can anyone tell me where it went - or if I'm looking in the wrong place?

Thanks

What happens if you go to Start, Run, type in

C:\windows\system32\restore\rstrui.exe

and click OK?

Hi VoG

I get a message which says:

This application has failed to start because framedyn was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem

Can you access System Restore via Programs>System Tools?

If so, check that SR has not been disabled.

You also need to ensure that at least 200MB is available for SR's use as it will otherwise be disabled by default.

With today's very large HDDs, SR's original 12 per cent of capacity by default is too much and you can drop the percentage to around five or six per cent (how much system resources are being allocated is provided).
