System Restore eating drive space

  PvG 09:57 18 Mar 2004

I was faced with a steadily reducing amount of free space on my C: drive and decided to check System Restore.
I found that after a new installation and setting the first restore point it was 124MB.
After installing Norton and another restore point it was 278MB.
10 days later, and no new restore points set by me, it now shows as “Size - 352MB” and “Size on Disk” as 463MB.
I understand from the MS site that disabling System Restore will loose all set restore points. Is this something that is happening on everyone’s system?
Is there any way that I can claim this space back again, as when I look at System Restore, there are only 2 restore points that I can access.

Right Click on My Computer, select Properties, then click the System Restore tab, then the settings button, and you can specify the amount of space allocated to System Restore.
